Indian shooter Manu Bhaker, who gained gold on the not too long ago concluded Commonwealth Video games, on Wednesday dismissed experiences that she was insulted throughout a felicitation ceremony held in her village. An image exhibiting 16-year-old Bhaker sitting on the ground throughout a felicitation in Charkhi Dadri went viral on Monday. Quickly after, experiences emerged that the younger shooter was subjected to insults and made to take a seat on the ground as soon as the VVIPs arrived. Nevertheless, Bhaker has clarified that she selected to take a seat on the bottom as there have been elders current on the occasion. “During the felicitation ceremony, I sat on the ground on my own. There was space but I preferred to sit on the ground as few elders present at the event,” she stated.
The ceremony was carried out to honour medal winners on the CWG 2018 from Haryana. After successful gold medals on the ISSF World Cup, the pistol shooter Bhaker claimed one more gold within the ladies’s 10m air pistol occasion on the prestigious Commonwealth Video games at Gold Coast, Australia.
